Perspective

A friend of mine posted this a few months ago. I've never thought about this from the lemons' perspective:

We often ask if someone is a "glass is half empty" or "glass is half full" type of person. This has enlarged my perspective. When presented with a glass of water that is half full, there may be other perspectives:
  • Water! How did you know? I need water so desperately. I thought I was going to die!
  • Oh dear. I need soooooo much more water than that. I might as well give up the ghost right now.
  • No soda, eh?
  • Why did you give me this? What are you trying to say?
Etc. So many different ways to look at things.

I had some different feelings as we hiked to up to the wind caves in Logan Canyon with Gideon and Regan on July 24th this year:
  • I haven't hiked up to the wind caves since I was about 12 and we were at a family reunion. It was exhausting but fun.
  • My children should love this.
  • My knees hurt.
  • It is beautiful up here. And the temperature is nice.
  • I am soooooo out of shape. We've barely started and I am winded.
  • Oooooo. This torn muscle in my behind is going to be a problem.
  • This torn muscle in my behind is a problem. Oh dear.
  • When should I give up?
  • I hope no one plunges off of some cliff and dies.
  • I made it! It took forever, but I made it! Yeehaw!
  • I'm embarrassed it took forever to get up here.
  • Oh my heckaroonies, Esther is running downhill toward the edge of a cliff! Esther! Stop! Esther! Esther! ...
  • Esther caught herself on the edge of the cave opening. All is well.
  • My knees really, really hurt.
I was going to take a pic after we all got back for comparison, but I didn't get down in time!

How about this one:
  • Pants. How awfully fun for my birthday. [Sigh].
  • I need pants.
  • I have a broken thumb because I spazzed out trying to jump over my hands. Why take a picture to remind me of it?
  • I just got back from a high adventure activity and had a great time in spite of the fact that I have a broken thumb. Waterproof casts rock!
  • I don't like wearing a cast. I think I will cut it off myself rather than wait for an appointment with the doctor.
  • These are pretty good pants.
