Update with good news: my mother's surgery is done and it looks like all went well. Thank you for your prayers.

Subject: A new shoulder

My beloved wife, your mother Ruth, received a call Thursday afternoon about 6 PM, telling her to report to surgery this morning at 5:15 AM.  We showed up, a very efficient nurse helped her prepare.  The surgeon, Dr. Mortensen, came at about 7:15 and she entered pre-op.

The operation took about three and a half hours, and she was in the recovery area for only a short time. 

She is her room, anticipating only a one-night stay.  All seems well.  She is in good spirits;  I have not talked with the doctor, but her prognosis is positive. 

She was most impressed with the anesthesiologist.  She was wide awake and alert immediately after the procedure.  She still has a "block" for pain, so who knows what will happen when that wears off.  But, so far she has avoided the dreaded nausea that she had endured in past procedures.  All is well.   Hope everything is going as well for Ben Schlenske.  We will not even be posting a "go fund me" page.
