I started this post weeks ago, as there seemed to be a lot of awesome things happening, and yet a lot of miserable things, too. And I was thinking about how negatively we often view the world or our circumstances. Complaining is natural. But, it may blind us to realize how good life is, and how blessed we are.
I had a list of some of the good and bad and ugly and pretty at the time, but I don't remember what was in my list now! We had a couple of neighborhood teenagers we know take their lives, which was very sad and tragic. But, we also had some real joyous experiences and marvelous blessings. In fact, the funeral for Joshua's friend, Enoch Hansen, was a time where much of the sorrow of this life was swallowed up in the joy of Christ.
I do wish I remembered the list, as it would have chronicled some major things. Dang. But, before I got distracted, I had added the following duet to YouTube, and it definitely fits in the "good" and "pretty" categories! Enjoy "Some Things Are Meant to Be", by Rachel and Lucy at the Northridge High School choir concert:
FYI, The concert was really good. And, even though I liked my daughters' duet the best (no bias!), other specialty numbers were really good, too!
