Storm of the Century, Again

When was the last "Storm of the Century", where we cleaned up all the fallen trees and replaced neighborhood roofs? 2010? So, I guess we now get a Storm of the Decade.

I am very grateful wind doesn't blow any of our trees into our house. We lost a little roof cap, but otherwise our home itself is fine. And, unlike some, we measured our power outage in hours, not

Here are just a few picture at our place of the storm on September 8th:

Jay and Konner Eldredge came by right after this photo and cut up the McBrayer's tree.

Most of our peaches and apples ended up on the ground. But, we didn't lose any limbs off our fruit trees.
The first roof of the little play house was demolished by the top of the neighbor's tree last time. This time, my plastic roof just blew away. I have already fixed the fence. But, the latch on the gate broke off, too, and the wind pushed the gate back the wrong way, destroying the hinges. I plan to finish fixing the gate tomorrow.
Farewell, tall tree. We hardly knew ye. Ramsay Hennis came over the next day with a chainsaw and we hauled all the pieces out to the front.
That night, I thought about moving the trampoline right behind the tree, as I had done before, to protect it from the wind. I decided four bags of salt was fine. And, thus, we still have a trampoline.
