April and May Gifts

The weather brought the gift of precipitation in April and May. We had other gifts as well.

Starting April Fool's Day, Esther decided that most of the rooms in the house needed a name. Here is what she came up with:
The Cool Mistake Cabin? I don't get it, but I love it!

For Mom's birthday, we had almost everybody home. It was a treat to have both of the boys' fiances with us, too. The gift of these wonderful ladies added to our family are joyous:

Lucy and the Beauty and the Beast cast at Central Davis Junior High gave us the gift of entertainment in April:
Maybe Lucy loves Gaston, but I think she is just a good actress.

Lucy exhibited joy as she performed.
Everyone enjoyed the show!
I helped give the gift of the set again this year.

On FHE one night I gave the children that were home the gift of going to the new family entertainment center down Hwy 193 from us in the old Taipan Trading Company building. The main activity that night was bowling.
The place is pretty massive.
Check out Esther's very enthusiastic form.
Enoch didn't like leading with his left leg. Still, he often didn't hit the bumpers.

Joshua is too far back, but he has excellent form!
Lucy is a lady and does not like the typical hunched-over "cro magnon" form.
Rachel's "pound it down" form. 😊
The children also rode on this weird, spinning bumper buggies.

Our next highlight was our annual Passover celebration we do every year, finding the types and symbols we now see in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the fulfillment of prophecy. Because of the "Days of Darkness" we do, though, I generally don't have many pictures. I did take a couple of one activity where the children put a large pillow in a t-shirt they are wearing and had a sumo-wrestling contest:

I may we get the gift of music from concerts. Lucy performed in the Central Singers choir and in beginning band:

The band received a special gift from a professional saxophonist who performed with the CDJH Jazz Band named Candido Jessee Abeyta, Jr. He was terrific:
He is a fabulous musician. He also helped the students show off their talents, too. What a treat!

In May, it was time for Enoch to get some presents for his 8th birthday:

And then came Mother's Day. Susie wanted the family pictures printed that we took last year. As a bonus, I got her this blanket, that I hope she enjoys:
