We Already Have Christmas Impulse Power, Mr. Scott: Work on the Warped Priority Drive

I am finding Miriam to be very impulsive, and her latest impulse surprised me. She wanted to buy a tree at the Ogden Christmas Tree Jubilee on Wednesday. The funds are for charity, given to disabled students in the area.

She purchased a "Christmas Story" themed tree, with picture frames and Christmas ornaments created out of pages from a published copy of the Dickens classic.

It cost $450.

I tried to gently discourage her, but I didn't want to quash her noble impulse. But, it was very impulsive. I can't afford that right now, without extracting money from family things--perhaps I am too selfish. But purchasing a $450 tree is something I would like to do if I didn't have what I consider overriding priorities.

Here she is with her newly purchased tree.

We set-up Miriam's tree in the living room:

We put up our traditional fake tree in the basement, and Marcus was, um, ambivalent about the activities at best:

Esther had fun, though:

We were at the Christmas Tree Jubilee because Rachel was performing. Rachel is becoming an accomplished violinist. Here she is as part of a very nice sounding quartet:
