air force test

Here's a little test for you. They say fighter pilots can do it for 2 minutes, but that you are brilliant if you can do it for 18 seconds. Have a try at it! The link is http://members.iinet.net.au/~pontipak/redsquare.html

  1. I tried about 8 times and got 25 seconds twice. That means I am a brilliant, um, extra in a Star Wars movie who can get toasted to let Luke hit the DeathStar.

  2. I got 16.something on my first try (well, my second try, cause on my first try I didn't have a clue what was about to happen and died in like 0.17 seconds). I tried a few more times and got up to like 19. I'm not as good as Dave.

  3. OK. So, I see Kirk's post and then I think "well, I should try again." And what happens? I try 6 more times and I get 3 more 25 second plays. 25 point something THREE TIMES. 25 seconds may be pretty good, but what is it about this 25 second barrier? I feel like an idiot-savant. It's like watching the Star Wars clip of Luke's friend Biggs getting zapped by Darth Vader over and over again. My fate is sealed! Go Luke!

"Leave the force alone, Biggs. Go back to work" whispers Obi Wan.

  4. Ok So I tried a few (like maybe 50-200) more times, and I always get stuck at about 25-29 seconds now. I did get up to 31.8 seconds one time, but that was a fluke. Your guys are gonna have to give me some serious proof of anyone (fighter pilot or not) that can get up to more than a minute. The only reason I can get to 30 sec. now is because I have memorized the motions of the cubes.... :) I guess I haves some extra time on my hands. :)

  5. I can't help you out with any proof. Ben and I also get stuck around 26 seconds. And it's quite compelling to keep trying.
